Background and Experience

I am certified in cognitive psychotherapy from Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset in Huddinge with degree level one.

In the spring of 2009 I am completing a basic training in schema therapy at the Sabbatsberg Hospital in Stockholm. As part of this training, I receive therapy clients under supervision from a qualified faculty member to continue my professional development.

I am also a certified 12-step counsellor. In such a capacity, I have worked in several treatment centers with chemically addicted clients as well as those with other addictions or afflictions such as eating disorders and compulsive gambling. I have taken a special interest in how families are affected by living with an addict.
Furthermore I am qualified to do ADDIS evaluations, a diagnostic tool for alcohol and drug abuse behaviour according to DSM-IV/ ICD-10.

My therapeutic approach is primarily cognitive, integrating techniques such as schema therapy and mindfulness whenever that seems appropriate.
